Understanding Fluoride Treatments

Protecting your family's smiles is our top priority at Nirvana Dental. That's why we recommend fluoride treatments as an essential part of maintaining healthy smiles for patients of all ages. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps strengthen teeth and make them more resistant to cavities Although it’s usually present in our toothpaste and the minerals in our water, a professional fluoride treatment can give you an extra layer of protection—for children and adults alike!

The Benefits

  • Cavity Prevention: Reduce your risk of cavities.
  • Early Decay Repair: Help repair early signs of tooth decay.
  • Enhanced Protection for Dental Work: Protects your dental restorations.
  • Strengthened Enamel: Make your teeth more resistant to acid attacks.

Why Would You Consider Fluoride Treatments?

Fluoride treatments are a common dental procedure that can significantly improve your oral health. But are they right for you? Let's break down the key reasons why you might consider a fluoride treatment:

  • Age: Children and teenagers are particularly vulnerable to tooth decay, since their teeth are still developing.
  • Poor Oral Hygiene: If you don't consistently brush and floss, your teeth are more prone to cavities.
  • Dry Mouth: Saliva helps neutralize acids that damage tooth enamel. If you suffer from dry mouth, you may benefit from fluoride treatments.

Fluoride works by strengthening your tooth enamel which makes it more resistant to acid attacks. Regular fluoride treatments, combined with good oral hygiene practices, can help you achieve optimal oral health!
