Suspect A Cavity?
Did you know that ignoring a cavity can lead to severe tooth decay that may require a full root canal?
This will cause your tooth to become weakened—which is something we want to help you avoid. To protect your tooth and get rid of the underlying decay, we recommend having a dental filling placed with Dr. Vartikar. She will match this simple restoration to the color of your existing smile to give you a durable, unnoticeable restoration.

Symptoms To Look Out For
What To Expect
If it's confirmed that you need a filling, Dr. Vartikar will first start by numbing the area needing a filling before removing the decay from your tooth. Once this is done, we can start prepping it for the composite filling.
This is done by applying an etching gel into your tooth before washing it away and packing the cavity with resin. The resin is then cured and hardened with a special dental light. Our team can place multiple fillings during one visit to eliminate the inconvenience of needing to return to our practice unnecessarily.

Taking Care of Your Smile
Putting in the time to care for your dental fillings can help extend the longevity of your restoration. It can also help support your overall oral health to prevent cavities from invading the rest of your teeth. Regular brushing and flossing will help you prevent plaque and tartar buildup around your fillings.
You can also keep them safe by avoiding biting down on hard objects or chewing on ice. If you notice any pain, sensitivity, or discoloration around your filling, get in touch with our team as soon as possible.
